The project is located in District Mansehra, NWFP, Pakistan. It is funded by Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and implemented by ERRA and Irrigation Department, NWFP. NGI Japan has been the Design Consultants while AGES led consortium is responsible for Design Review and Construction Supervision of the Project.

The project involves reconstruction of more than 200 structures including 23 No. Aqueducts, 49 Super-passages, 01 Siphon, 08 Escapes, 09 Falls, 31 Road Bridges, 18 Causeways, 88 Foot Bridges, 08 Intakes for Civil Channels, about 9765 ft of Conduit and more than 5800 ft of Retaining Walls etc. Baffa Maira Aqueduct being 2600 ft long and 37 ft high is a special feature of the project.
